Dress up day at school two Fridays in a row! Today's’ theme was Freaky Friday, so we went for Freaky Scary rather than the movie type ‘daughter becomes mum’. Master Six decided on a pirate, as he had a pirate eye patch and earring he has been dying to wear. Stripy pants, a jagged cut t –shirt and mascara on his chin for stubble was easy.
Miss Six wanted to be a ballerina, so with the addition of her ‘Cute but Psycho’ T-shirt, and some black eyeliner she became ‘Black Swan’ – well I thought it was a freaky movie!
For Miss Nine we googled old horror movies and were inspired by the Bride of Frankenstein. This photo is from the 1935 movie with Boris Karloff as the Monster and Elsa Lanchester as the Bride.
We just needed a long white dress and gloves, pale face and red lips with dark eyes and teased hair. I sewed a dress from an old sheet and grabbed a pair of gloves from my collection. Voila!
Such fun!
Have a great vintage/crafty/thrifty/freaky fri day xx
